When Technology Gets In The Way Of Creativity

Today technology is built into today's simple everyday items and nothing has had a more personal effect on my photography as the LED lightbulb. Streets at night are now overly bright like a movie set with these menaces that don't have the warm temperature of past street lights. Their blue light not only wreaks havoc on plant life, animals and humans but also on photography. You just can't escape them anymore. Philadelphia has been in the process of installing them in every train station, concourse tunnel and on the trains themselves. It's those on the train that have put the kibosh on a side project of taking out the train window as I venture into center city. Before the reflection of lights on the windows showed up a long streaks of light and gave the illusion of movement and speed. The LEDS on the other hand give the impression of photographing out an office window.
