The Half Frame

I frequently go back and look thru my film negatives and wonder what if. What if the cameras kept working, what if I could afford a good film scanner, etc. This current thought is for the Olympus half frame film camera that I was using about 9 years ago, the Olympus Pen S. I bought two of these small manual film cameras because when dealing with things this old two is one and one is none. Both cameras worked fine for a couple of weeks before developing a sticky shutter so I sent both in to be CLA'd which stands for Cleaned, Lubricated, Adjusted. The cameras worked fine again....for two weeks before the problem returned which forced me back to digital. This seems to be my luck with certain cameras as it was the same type of problem that I had with the medium format Yashica TLR that I used a few years later. Not everyone can afford a mint condition half frame Olympus Pen F or Rolleiflex TLR so compromises have to be made.
