Move On

   Today I believe that I've finished my last oil stick portrait on shopping bag paper. I'm not moving on because I'm out of ideas, I'm moving on because of more frequent problems withe the oil sticks that I use. Sticks that I've had for a few years work fine but the more recently purchased sticks are dried out and crumble apart making them useless and at $12 a stick it can add up quickly. yes, there are a couple other brands but they're also more expensive and larger which just won't work on the size paper I'm using.

  Am I upset over having to stop painting these? Not really. I'm use to switching materials and styles. I also see it as a positive thing to keep things fresh and away out of routine.
