The Shopping List

  For almost 50 years of my life I watched people, including myself, make and carry a shopping list. And for a few hundred years before I was born it was a practice that just about everyone did. But over the last decade, decade and a half, there has been a monumental shift towards the digital shopping list. Most of the time, the people who aren't either old or poor, are now using an app. The art of the hand written shopping list is almost extinct. That's where this next typology project comes in.

  Across the street from my house there is an ACME Market, and almost everyday I walk through their parking lot to catch the train, go for my night walk, and to actually go grocery shopping. A few months ago I got the idea to document shopping lists after I found one on the ground outside of the market. Finding these isn't going to be any easy, but I like a challenge.
