This is painting number nine in the untitled body of work that goes back to last year. I've taken a break from it a few times because of art supply shortages, other ideas that I had to get out of my head, and the few times I caught myself getting a little too realistic with the paintings. I'm not a realist painter and I have no ambition to become one. Too much perfection suffocates the life out of a painting. You have to paint what's in your head and it's not so much what you see as an abstraction you feel.
