Hiding In Nostalgia

I have a gift for being able to hide in plain sight, even in the largest city in America. But that gift is now used more frequently to isolate myself from the worlds vast inhabitance and their overly contemporary world. Do I miss the past and it's more simplistic well-built nature? Absolutely! Usually the first word out of someones mouth, or keyboard when discussing this is "Nostalgia", and that word is meant to be an insult. Nostalgia is a product of dissatisfaction and rage. The settling of grievances between the present and the past. More simply put, I'm not happy with todays homogenized, overly curated, branded world. I find it boring, shallow, intruding, aggravating, noisy, culturally challenged, disposable, and expensive with a pandemic of Imposter Syndrome.

Late night use to be the best time to avoid the calamity that is the 21st century without completely isolating yourself. Late night to those over the age of 45 means after midnight. For the younger generations its 9pm.
