The Disappearance of Texture

I love texture, but this country is becoming too polished, too smooth, too shiny. Texture is something that builds up over time, not on someones design or A.I. app. Texture in ones surroundings tell a story of its time and culture. By eradicating texture you are eradicating history.

Why are todays younger generations so repulsed, so frightened, so ignorant of what happens to things over time? They embrace faux texture, disposable texture. Oh the hell with it. let's just call it iTexture.

This country has become obsessed with being contemporary, brand-able, sellable, investable and Instagramable. All of this has created a "Matrix" movie like delusion. A perfect life where surroundings have to be what's perceived as perfection, which is mistaken as a 24 hour a day happiness in a textbook pretty surrounding.

We now live in the new austerity, flavorless packaging.
